Despite a roomy interior, the van's exterior footprint is smaller than most RVs so it can access many remote or urban sites that they cannot. It has a backup camera/reverse warning detector; fits easily in standard parking spaces, extending only slightly beyond most cars. Taller travelers should note that the main cabin ceiling height and the bed-length are both 6’
Our extensive personal experience driving and living in the van around the U.S. and Canada - in all seasons and road conditions/surfaces -- has allowed us to test and improve what we have come to see as the most important features for making traveling and living in it as easy and enjoyable as possible . Campfire items: Poker; bellows; axe/wood saw,/canvas log carrier [for sites that allow foraging for dead/fallen wood]; telescoping roasting forks.
Misc: Folding step/footstool for sliding-door access and extra seating; telescoping collapsible stool for interior or exterior use; extension cord/adapters for shore-power connection; magnetic privacy screens for windows; privacy curtain between cab and main cabin; magnetic noise-dampening/blackout covers for ceiling fan openings.RaccomandazioniThe van is an ideal way to travel to see friends and relatives; visit bucket-list sites/events/attractions; and, of course, for overnight or more extended stays in any of the many national, state, and local parks, forests, monuments, recreation areas, historic sites, etc. Many of these (in Pennsylvania and neighboring states) can be reached within a few hours drive from our base just outside Philadelphia. In addition to savings on car rental and accommodation costs while traveling, we have equipped it with safety features for travel with our dog, which results in significant further savings in boarding/dog-sitting expenses. Alan provides thorough tutorials and a detailed manual. Both hosts are highly responsive, accommodating with schedules, and offer thoughtful extras like snacks, pet supplies, and local tips. They are consistently available for support without being intrusive.
Effortless driving, fully equipped comfort
The Promaster drives easily, parks well, and maneuvers adeptly, even in city traffic. It's a fully equipped "home on wheels" with a comfortable bed, efficient storage, diesel heater, MaxxAir fan, fridge, sink, and electric toilet. It's also pet-friendly and achieves good gas mileage (~19 MPG).

5.0My husband and I had an excellent time renting this van. It is comfortable, and thoughtfully constructed. Allen and Judith have thought of everything you could need while camping like this. The van itself was easy to drive, even for someone without a lot of experience, driving a larger vehicle. They were responsive and kind, and the information about how to operate the systems in the van was well organized, and easy to learn. You can tell they have put a lot of love into this van!

The hosts made themselves available in case they were needed but the need never arose. My trip was to Long Island and the fact that the van drove like a car in NYC traffic made it really nice. Excellent week in the van.
