The Volkswagen Bus or Minibus or Microbus or Hippie-Mobile or Hippie Van ... While it has many nicknames, it has an unmistakable silhouette that everyone recognizes! The Eurovan (as it is officially called) is the evolution of the legendary original: it still has that feel of being just small enough to be a pleasure to drive, yet big enough to go on a week-long road trip, camping every night! The Eurovan Westfalia Weekender version is the lighter cousin of the full Eurovan Camper. While it still maintains the upstairs bunk, it lacks the storage cabinets and kitchen. However, many fans (like us) prefer the weekender over the camper because it has more room downstairs. We prefer cooking outside on a gas stove (provided). We also have a huge tarp shelter to put over a picnic table if the weather is not great. We got our 2002 Weekender in early 2020 and had the mechanics and body thoroughly inspected and restored.Cosa è incluso- Coleman 2 burner stove (bring your own gas)
- Two lightweight camping chairs
- 16 x 16 ft tarp shelter with 3 poles
- Waterproof plastic bins for storage in the van and around camp.
- Fitted sheets for beds
Altre cose di cui prendere nota- Note this is the Weekender version, not the full camper, this means there's no auxiliary heating unit, from that perspective you have to treat the van as a (very) comfortable tent ;-)
- A known issue on the Eurovan is that the armrests are fragile: don't be tempted to stand on them, or lean on them with excessive weight. VW took the definition of armrests pretty literally: they are really just to rest your arms.
- There is a post-trip fee of $0.35/mile after the free initial 100 miles/day.
