2023 Winnebago Revel / Mercedes Sprinter 4x4 Camper Van Boondocking Rig

Fantastic renter, love this RV for trouble free use. Very comfortable on highway, easy to lay down the miles to get off the beaten path. Bring a isobutane/gas stove/stovetop if your cooking much because the induction cooktop burns lots of battery time. Gonna rent more with this renter. 5 ⭐!

We rented the RV for time in the Redwoods, including a music festival; it was our first time doing the Campervan thing, and it worked out great. The process wasn't quite as refined as say AirBnB, but there was never confusion as to what needed to happen. While I have driven moving vans before, I wouldn't call myself a natural with it. The Sprinter was much easier to handle (especially driving with the bed in the lowered position), even if I wasn't going to win any land speed records. We didn't use the toilet or shower, but the bed was great and the battery stayed topped up enough to run the fan and fridge with the engine running at least a half hour per day. (We didn't get much solar in the trees, and the electrical hookup was a bit oversubscribed, working for about 30 minutes total.)

Host wasn't there when we picked up (camper locks magically unlocked when we got there) so there was no going over the ins and outs of the camper. It was extremely dirty. I had to wash all of the dishes before use which included buying dish soap. It clearly had not been cleaned as the car mats were full of dirt. I don't even want to know if the bedding had been washed. Could never figure out how to get hot water or fill the water tank, followed the instructions in the camper manual to no avail. I have owned campers so I don't feel it was user error. Ended up buying some kitchen utensils as it was hard to make anything without a spatula.
