5We had the most amazing time in this camper! It was beautifully maintained, super comfy, and had all the comforts of home. Being off-grid was no problem at all as the solar setup powered everything we needed. Our host was super helpful, flexible, and communicated clearly every step of the way. Truly one of the best Outdoorsy experiences we’ve had. Highly recommend!

5Jill and her husband were wonderful to work with when renting their RV. It was even better than described, and our kids especially loved riding in the back during our trip to the U.P. I would highly recommend this RV to any family looking for a fun getaway and a memorable adventure.

A.
Birdie is well-equipped for off-grid camping! 🔥 Furnace and refrigerator both operate on propane, ensuring warmth and food preservation without external power. ☀️ Solar panels power the interior lights and USB-C plugs, so you’ll have lighting and basic charging. 🚿 The water pump runs on either gas or shore power, so you’ll still have access to hot water even when off-grid.

What are the pick-up and drop-off time options?

We're very flexible with pick-up and drop-off times—we just ask that guests maintain good communication and coordinate reasonable timeframes. Feel free to reach out with your travel plans and we'll do our best to accommodate!

Are there special tricks when boondocking?
A.
Yes, it's best to set the refrigerator to 'gas' mode rather than 'auto' when boondocking. When the unit isn't connected to shore power, it will periodically check for a power source if left in 'auto' mode. This can drain the house battery and may trigger a low battery alarm on the fridge—often during the night and potentially waking guests. To help prevent this, we also recommend running the engine for a few minutes before bed to ensure the house battery is topped off.
