No tailgatingDiesel ONLY!Should you need to fill the water tank: it is lightweight and is easily unhooked from the water pump for direct transport to/from any water hookup spot.Should you need to empty the grey water tank, it is also lightweight and is easily unhooked from the sink for transport to/from any grey water transport station. There are NO electrical hookups. The battery bank is charged by driving and by solar panels. We have never had any issues with this: if you are concerned about your battery usage, there is an easily accessible panel that will show you the percentage of battery available. The stove hooks up to 16 oz camping gas canisters. One canister lasts us for ~ 1 week of light cooking. These must be disconnected and stored while driving. Please also note that, while we do our absolute best to respond to questions, both Cameron and I have full time jobs and lead busy lives, and cannot always accommodate special requests. Please be patient around communication, and know that we will get back to you as soon as we can!

Misleading about safety issues
The Host downplayed critical defects, like the sliding door, prioritizing cosmetic fixes over documented safety problems. There were also multiple booking cancellations and inconsistent communication.
Easy to drive with safety flaws
Many guests found it easy to drive and praised its gas mileage, comfortable bed, and well-equipped kitchen. However, it has critical issues like an unreliable sliding door, inconsistent locks, and no emergency brake.

3.0Safety concerns overshadowed the trip. The destination and activities made for a great weekend, and the bed was genuinely comfortable. Unfortunately, a series of safety, security, and reliability issues left a lasting negative impression. I'll be honest: prior reviews flagged the sliding door lock and overall locking issues, and I dismissed them — assuming Outdoorsy's platform wouldn't list a vehicle with unresolved safety defects. That was a mistake I won't repeat. Before the rental, I contacted Cameron directly to ask about any quirks. He acknowledged the sliding door had one but mentioned nothing else. At pickup he demonstrated a technique for closing it that required an extra push on the back of the door to engage the latch. What he didn't convey was that extra push isn't a reliable fix. On the return trip, it slid open while we were driving on the highway. A sliding door that cannot be reliably secured is not a quirk. It's a safety hazard. Within a block of pickup, the passenger side mirror had jiggled out of position and was facing the door — rendering it useless for lane changes and turns for the remainder of the trip. The first time I parked, I couldn't get the doors to lock — either by key fob or manually. The locks would cycle through locking and then immediately unlocking every time. By day two we had identified a workaround, but we were never fully confident the doors were locked, including the first night we slept in the van. Cameron spoke enthusiastically about an antenna booster he'd recently installed but hadn't yet tested. It did not work. The Bluetooth connection to the car speakers worked once and never reconnected. A Bluetooth speaker he left in the van also didn't function — it appeared well-worn and beat up. Cameron was clearly proud of cosmetic work he'd done on the exterior driver-side panel and kitchen backsplash. I respect the effort, but it was hard not to notice that visible, documented safety issues flagged by prior renters went unaddressed while cosmetic improvements were prioritized. I'd encourage Outdoorsy to review whether this vehicle meets the platform's safety standards before it's rented again, and I'd encourage prospective renters to take the existing reviews seriously — as I should have.

Domande frequenti
Q.
I'm a beginner! Can I take this van out by myself??
A.
Everything in this van is designed to be extremely light weight and operable by just one person. Beginner campers have no problems using this system, since everything is so self explanatory. If you have any questions or want a walk through of the van before taking it out, please just let us know! We'd be happy to share all our knowledge with you to help you feel safe on your journey.
Q.
When should I refill the water tank?
A.
The water tank will probably last you ~2 days of heavy water use (2 ppl and 2 dogs, drinking water, coffee, cooking). We recommend that you keep an eye on your consumption after this point and fill up the tank during the day. If the water tank is empty, the water pump will run continuously. You would have to turn off the electrical system (with the push of a button) until you can refill the water tank. This is not fun to do at night, so take our word for it and just do it early ;)
Q.
You really sleep two people AND two mid sized dogs in that thing?
A.
Yep. The bed is a king. One dog sleeps under the bed, and the other sleeps in the main cabin.
Q.
Are there any special tricks and tips that would help with operating the RV easily?
A.
The Baby Beluga is a super easy driver. She's been taken out by beginner adventurers on solo trips, with few (if any) difficulties. Some tips: Sometimes it can be difficult for new RV drivers to get used to not having a rear view mirror or backup camera. Don't worry, the side view mirrors give you all the sight you need. Turn off the fan and lower the lid when it is not in use. If you're going somewhere cold, let the engine warm up before driving.
