We love our Winnebago Solis and think you will, too! We had a long wish list and the Solis checked ALL the boxes. We needed a rig that:- could sleep 4 (the Solis has a roomy murphy bed and pop-top sleeping area (weight limit 440lbs) - most camper vans only sleep 2);
- had automotive-grade seating with three-point belts for more secure travel (this was a Must - many RVs are not safe for kids and car seats);
- was easy to drive (the Solis has automatic transmission, fits in your average parking spot, has an HD rear view camera, AND back-up camera;
- could power all our gear (the Solis’ 220-watt rooftop solar keeps our fridge, lights and gadgets powered up without needing to plug in to external power - which we can connect to when available for additional 120 volt outlet use);
- and had modern conveniences that made year-round camping (even during a pandemic!) possible AND comfortable. The Solis has a kitchen, sink, bathroom, showers (3!), on-demand hot water, fan, a fancy-shmancy Truma heating system, and a lot of storage.***During the summer months we can generally accommodate earlier and later drop off times - please message us for more details.***Please note that due to fluctuations in our reservation schedule, inquiries through Outdoorsy are only reservation requests. How do the electric, water and sewage hook up work while setting up at the campground?
A.
The Solis allows you to go off the grid - with solar power, a 21 gallon freshwater tank and a cassette toilet, you do not need to limit yourself to campgrounds with hookups. If you do find yourself with these amenities, you can refill your water and are able to plug the van to 30 amp. shore power (which will power the conventional plugs that do not run off the 12v solar system) with the provided cord and surge protector.
