Q.What flexibility is available for picking up and dropping off the RV?
A.
The vehicle will be parked on hour before the trip start time shown on your reservation, and can be dropped off no more than one hour after the trip end time on your reservation. Late drop off will result in a charge of $20/extra hour. Please be aware of this when requesting to book.
Q.Where can I camp?
A.
Camping on Big Island is best done in designated camping areas, with permits. Most of the sites are operated by Hawaii County, Hawaii State Parks, and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Reservations can be made on the websites of any of those agencies listed. Please just seach the phrase "camping" followed by any of those listed agency names.
You can also look for private camp sites on platforms such as HipCamp and AirBnB.
Q.Can we just park on the side of the road and camp?
A.
No. It is against the law on Big Island to just park and camp outside of a designated camping area. Doing so will put you at risk of being ticketed by law enforcement.
Q.Can the tent sleep more than 2 people?
A.
The tent can sleep 2 comfortably and safely. The comfort and safety is reduced when the tent is overloaded. Please keep in mind the 475lb weight limit on the roof/system. Renter will be responsible for any damage which occurs due to overloading the roof rack/ tent.
