Overall, the experience was okay. This being our first experience with Outdoorsy, there was some confusion at the beginning whether the Campervan was actually booked or not. The pickup of the van went smoothly. Matt was quite amiable and thorough in going through the various aspects of the use of the van, and it took a whole hour, even going as fast as he did. However, the first surprise was the van itself, it did not look like the picture on the website. Had we seen a picture of it as it actually was—it looked like a moving billboard—we might have passed on it. The second surprise was that the van had not been washed, and the shower and toilet cassette needed cleaning. Time was spent in cleaning them out which delayed departure. The third surprise was that the refrigerator did not work when the van or the generator was not running, and we lost some of our food items. It turned out that the solar charged batteries were not holding a charge. The return of the van went smoothly. Despite the surprises, the views on the Blue Ridge Parkway from the elevated vantage point of the van is something we will always have in memory.
