2- Owner didn't follow Outdoorsy policy for key exchange, and cleaning and checking that everything was in order. Owner was not present for dropoff and orientation. It appears they didn’t doublecheck everything worked before delivering it to us as can be seen below. - Biggest issue, complaint is our primary criteria in selecting an RV was that it have hot water for showers. The listing says it does but it did not work and after spending several hours on and off the phone with the owner trying to troubleshoot it, it couldn’t be made to work, resulting in us having to change several lodging accommodations to ensure we could have hot water for showers, which cost additional money. - At drop off, the engine light was on. For other reasons the owner met back up with us and cleared it but it came back on and remained on for the duration of the trip which added stress to the whole trip as it was unclear why the light was on. -At drop off, the outside of the vehicle was dusty and dirty and the windshield was filthy. The inside was also not cleaned well and had a layer of dust/sand that had to be cleared out. Drawers were dirty. The Microwave interior was filthy and was missing the rotating plate so we were never to properly heat food or make popcorn. The Keurig had a pod left in it. Dishwashing liquid top broken and spilled all over. They left an opened tube of toothpaste. There’s a $75 “prep fee” for cleaning. - At drop off, the fresh water tank was near empty and the gray water tank was at 2/3rd full. - To the owner’s credit, they did show up later the day of the receipt, and the following day to fix some items like windshield wiper replacement that was needed, as well as the awning support bracket that attaches to the RV because it was coming apart as 3 screws had pulled through. They fixed that and it wasn’t an issue the rest of the trip. - Photos show a ladder but there was no ladder for people to get above the driving area, although the owner installed a small, usable metal triangle, it should really be something more substantial for safety reasons. - Other broken things: The finish on the backside of the halfwall at the stairs was peeling off. One of the seats has a wood piece that holds the seat cushion in place and the nail that should hold it to the seat had pulled through and was loose and rusty. The owner removed that piece entirely. The shower curtain is ripping at the top where the rings are. The toilet paper holder was broken from the first day and the bar the TP would spin on couldn’t be found. One of the drawer's pull knob broke early on in the trip when trying to open it because the screw holding it to the drawer was not long enough. Drawers were not in good condition with staples/nails sticking thru. - the hose for potable water hookup at campsites was leaking profusely and the backup hose was in the same compartment as the unsanitary waste hookup hoses. Doesn't come with a regulator so we couldn't use the water connection at some campgrounds. - It came with a lot of plates and utensils as well as 2 pots but no pans and no sharp cutting knives. The owners seem like nice people and they tried to help via phone with the hot water but ultimately weren't familiar enough with the RV to be able to guide us remotely to get it to work. Their lack of presence at turnover and general dirtiness and lack of attention to cleaning and repairs made it a sour experience.
