Frequently asked questions

Q.

What flexibility is available for picking up and dropping off the RV?

A.

Pick up and drop off time is pretty strict on weekdays, due to our personal work schedule. On weekends we may be able to arrange for slightly earlier times. Just ask at time of booking.

Q.

How long does the training and walk-through take when I pick up the RV?

A.

When you pick up the RV, please budget around 90 minutes to do the training, driving lesson, and to sign paperwork. That means if you have a 6PM pick up time, you won't be getting on the road with the RV until about 7:30, so plan accordingly!

Q.

Do you offer a place for me to park my personal vehicle while I am renting the RV?

A.

You will need to make your own parking arrangements, as we do not offer parking of your personal vehicle. Most people just have one person drive the RV home after training, while the other person follows behind in the family car. We have had others enlist the help of friends who can drop them off for the RV training.

Q.

Some people have recommended renting an RV one day before planning to leave on vacation. What is your advice?

A.

Yes! By renting 1 day BEFORE your plan to leave on your vacation, you are giving yourself time to pack, and to get a good night's sleep before you hit the road. Our pick up time is at 6pm, and the training is 90 minutes. That means you won't be leaving with the RV until around 7:30PM. If you have a few hours (or more) of driving to get to your campground, it will be dark by the time you arrive and it's just not ideal to set up camp in the dark. Cut your stress and leave in the morning, instead.

We rent out our motorhome so we can offset the cost of owning it, while helping other families enjoy the camping experience without all the hassles of owning one! Driving a motorhome is a lot like having a puppy: everyone is super friendly and will want to stop and chat with you. We fondly refer to this experience as "The RV Effect," hence the name of our business.
