I bought it because I’ve always admired the creativity and engineering that goes into Japanese campers — everything has a purpose, everything is efficient, and there’s a kind of charm you just don’t find in North American RVs.And honestly… I want other people to experience how great these Japanese motorhomes really are.The ZIL 520 may look compact from the outside, but step in and you’ll see why it’s legendary in the Japanese camping world. It sleeps 5-6 people, has a cozy over-cab bed, a clever layout, a full kitchen, and even a bathroom with a shower — all wrapped inside one of the most reliable platforms Toyota ever built. It drives incredibly smoothly, it’s easy to maneuver (even in BC mountain terrain), and it’s just a fun rig to be in.If you’re an enthusiast, a curious first-timer, or someone who wants to try something different from the usual big box RVs, this camper gives you that “wow, the Japanese thought of everything” moment every time you use it.I take great care of this camper because I genuinely love it — and I’m excited to share that experience with other people who appreciate cool, well-built Japanese vehicles as much as I do.
