About Sky Overland

Sky Overland is a VanLife & RV rentals and adventures enterprise based in Asheville, NC. We provide vehicles with a white glove service, including customized trip planning and personalized experiences. Centered from Asheville, we have so many outdoor activities nearby to recommend, like Pisgah National Forest, Dupont State Forest, Great Smokies Mountains National Park, the High Country, the Appalachian Trail, Nantahala National Forest, Mt Mitchell and the Seven Sisters, Mt Rogers in Virginia, and so much more! We have a small fleet including a '20 Winnebago Revel, '19 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 12-passenger van, and a classic '01 Chinook Concourse Harley-Davidson Limited Edition Class C. This is a great RV and we thoroughly enjoyed our week of travel. We took it from Asheville to central South Carolina and then to Edisto Beach State Park on the South Carolina coast. We chose this RV because we are considering buying something similar and we wanted to be sure that it work for the two of us. We found it small but quite comfortable. Since this was a January trip we spent a fair amount of time in the camper with the heat on. That worked out great.

Had a great time testing out the Revel for a weekend. Had some issues with the sliding door, but the folks at Sky Overland were reachable via text. Would have liked the water tanks filled, but it was easy enough to do. And was very appreciative of the delivery to my home and the ease of drop off at the end.

A long weekend with the Mountain Laurel was just what our family needed. The van had everything we needed to keep logistics to a minimum. No need to think about where to plug in or refill water. We were completely self-sufficient for four days and three nights. The van drove incredibly well on the highway and confidently on very steep gravel and dirt. You can read online about the awesome features of this beast of a van but service is what sets Sky Overland apart.After booking I had quite a few questions that Jamie responded to quickly. I'm sure this happened over a series of texts and phone calls and he was always happy to respond - welcoming the opportunity to help me get ready for the trip. As the trip approached, I threw an unexpected wrench into things and again, Jamie went out of his way to help me work things out. He again exceeded my expectations with flexibility for pick up. During the trip I reached out for some basic questions and he responded quickly each time.

Our seven night trip to the Outer Banks of NC was an absolutely delightful adventure into coastal wilderness areas. This 4x4 rig works equally well on and off road. Out of the entire 1300 mile round trip, 50 miles were spent roaming around the beaches of Cape Hatteras. Sky Overland was excellent in communicating from begin to end of the transaction. If you are considering an off road adventure of your own, and want to do it right, this unit is your best option.

The person who handled the check-in was not the owner, which led to a number of issues. He was nice about it and everything was eventually handled, but it took 2 hours. The listing had changed after we made the reservation causing some of the confusion.

Geoffrey and his crew were great, from start to finish. He answered all of our questions in a timely fashion, worked with us when we had to change our rental dates, and rented us an amazing rig that exceeded all of our expectations.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Winnebago. We drove several thousand miles in it and it was very comfortable ,clean and maintained well . They provided a foam topper for the bed if desired and it was very comfortable. There was good communication and follow up. We would definitely rent this Winnebago again!
