Hi Alyssa is super responsive and communicative and it wasn’t really her fault but the heating broke the first night I had the van so it didn’t have heat the whole trip. I loved the van though - it’s super comfy otherwise.

Absolutely the best road trip we have ever experienced!!! Alyssa was super sweet and helpful for any questions we had while on the road. The van itself is perfectly designed. It was complete with a full size shower, a water tank to last about 5-6 days, a full size bed that my 6' 4" husband actually fit into, a 2 burner stove with caraway cookware, a closet that actually had room to hang my clothes, a huge storage space in the back, and a fridge / freezer with room for a few days worth of meals! This van is incredible and is epic on gas mileage too. We were so sad to give it back!! It was truly in the little details like the accent lighting, the super comfy pillows, and the solar panels that gave us plenty of battery for nighttime to cook and charge our electronics that made this trip so special. I love nature, but I also love my comforts so this is the best of both worlds!

Alyssa and her crew at Keen Campers were a joy to work with.My wife De and I lived in The Mothership for two months and logged over 10,000 miles. She drives like a dream and gets 20+ mpg consistently. The 25 gallon water tank was plenty and only needed filling every 3-5 days. The composting toilet was easy to use and clean. There was plenty of storage for full time living. The battery bank is huge and charged both by solar and through the alternator while driving. We could run everything with no trouble. The fridge worked great and would even keep ice in the lower right section. The bed is easy to set up and the two of us never slept better (I'm 6' and 250lb). Draining grey water was simple and fast. The van was incognito enough to sleep anywhere and we did. We kept cool even in the summer with the ceiling fan and an additional fan plugged into the AC power. It was hard to say goodbye to her (both Alyssa and the Mothership). Highly recommend.

Wow! What an amazing experience! Keencampers helped my friend and I plan the perfect getaway. The van was spacious enough for the both of us and easy to drive. We explored the coast of California camping hassle free. Couldn’t ask for a better experience! Thanks KeenCampers

Amazing van! Loved all the features. The host is very responsive and happy to assist. It was our first time trying a van trip and we definitely enjoyed ourselves! Would definitely book again in the future!

Wow where do I begin! Alyssa is an absolute sweetheart and made the experience very smooth. The van has everything you need! We're thinking of building out our own van and we’ll most likely copy this layout. We’re major foodies and we love to cook and the kitchen setup was perfectly accommodating! The nights were a bit chilly for us desert dwellers but Alyssa included a buddy heater for us. Never a worry about running out of power. We had a major wind storm one night which caused a bit of rocking but everything inside and out is built very sturdy. We spent 5 nights on the coast in Obsidian and it was the perfect refreshing getaway from work and COVID stress. I would definitely recommend, and would very likely book again in the future.

This review is long over due! Keen Campers gave us a once in a life time opportunity to travel the west coast in their luxury van. They were so responsive and helpful during our whole trip, they even went out of their way to make this a surprise for my husbands birthday, thanks again! To top it all off taking this trip really gave us the affirmation we were looking for in wanting to do van life! We are happy to say because of this experience we have purchased our very own tiny home to convert! Thanks again for everything! I highly recommend this van if you're thinking of taking a trip :)

Obsidian was wonderful and so was Adam who gave me the grand tour and showed me how everything worked! I took a three day trip into Cleveland National Forest and found the van super easy to drive. The owners were accessible and quick to respond both before and during my trip... and so friendly and helpful. I even contacted them during my trip to see if they had a cancellation that would allow me to extend my time in Obsidian. If there’s an available slot, book it ASAP because they are booked well into the future. Jennifer G.

This camper van is pretty amazing. It drives like a dream. Going up and down steep, twisty mountain roads was a breeze. It was very comfortable on our trip out to the desert. The last morning was in the 30's but the van's heater kept us warm. Since we used an outdoor kitchen the cooking facilities in the van weren't used, nor was the shower or toilet. The solar panels kept it so we never went below 80% on the batteries. I'm 5'10", my wife is 5' 9" and that was about the maximum height that you could sleep comfortably in the bed. I would definitely like to get a van like this.

This van was dope! The owner was a great host and was super responsive to our questions and when coordinating pick up and drop off of the van. We booked this last minute for a weekend trip to Joshua Tree and it turns out we just got lucky because a cancellation had just made it available. The van was equipped with more than we could ever think of for a trip to the desert. It has a heater which came in clutch for those cold desert nights, a beautiful tiled shower with hot water, a two burner stove top, filtered drinking water and tons of storage. The owners provided linens, towels, kitchen and cookware and a french press that made our mornings that much better! The table was super easy to convert to a bed each night and back again in the morning. My only regret is not getting any cute pictures of the inside of the van before we returned it. Would recommend this van and definitely plan to rent it again sometime! :)

This is going to be a comprehensive review! We were the second renters of this van and it was AMAZING. We were a bit apprehensive bc it looked too good to be true and didn’t have reviews (turns out its just brand-spanking new to the rental world). My partner and I were looking for a way to salvage a previously planned Cali Trip from Covid and the wildfires and this van made that happen in a safe and super fun way! Quick summary the van was comfortable, cute, fancy, and rugged. We hiked, went to the beach, explored cool soCal towns, and had a great time. The owner was invested we have a great trip and it showed in the details and her responsiveness. I could not recommend this rental enough. More details below:The driving: driving this van was waaay easier than we thought. We both have experience driving in big cities and I rocked a mini van for a while we felt comfortable. But it is a lager vehicle. It handled turns like a dream and the backup camera made parking a sitch! Its 22 feet so fits in most state campsite restrictions . We drove it on an odyssey from San Diego, to Sequoia, and then Down the PCH back to San Diego and it drove like a dream. It got pretty good mileage for a vehicle its size and weight. *I would caution that I would only drive this baby in mountainous and hilly terrain if you have experience driving in the mountains bc those switchbacks were no joke.*The amenities: The van comes with an induction stove so we made French pressed coffee, tea, and eggs each morning which was a delight. We also got bougie and had pasta after hiking. It has mini fridge with tiny freezer. We bought ice at the beginning of the trip as a precaution in case the fridge didn’t stay cold… and it stayed frozen! It has AC and heat (should you need it) and filtered water for drinking. It also had a shower with a water heater so the water was warm! The toilet is a compost toilet (we opted for gas stations and campground bathrooms just for the sake of convenience regarding #2). We did use the toilet to go um….#1… which filters into a jug you can empty pretty easily. It requires you to get comfortable with your body, but after all… you’re in a small home so you’ll be getting cozy anyway.The van has solar panels so we liked the eco part of that. We surprisingly didn’t use too much power, about 10% daily on average with cooking, washing the dishes, lights and temporarily running the fan. With the van in the sun each day it regained about 8% on average from solar. Its something to be cognizant of if you’re in shaded areas and using a ton of power, but we had the van for days and didn’t need to charge it manually (though that is an option should we need it). Also, different components use different aspects of power. Some is solar, some gas, and some battery. The owner told us which energy facets came from where… but we forgot and never had an issue with all of the systems.We had a last minute hiccup at the end when one of the mugs crashed into the stove right at the end of our trip. It shattered the beautiful stove. It came out of our deposit per the outdoorsy policies. But the owner could not have been more chill and transparent about it, which really assuaged our worries about it. We were mostly upset that we had wrecked something in this van that really felt like a home away from home.
