Dicot Designs (“Dye-cot”) is a boutique woodworking studio based in Boulder, Colorado, specializing in high-end, custom van builds. We are a small, minority-owned and operated team that’s dedicated to craftsmanship and using business as a force for good by donating 1% of annual revenue to environmental nonprofits. As a friendly bunch, we are people-first. Finding a partner to build you the van you’ve dreamed of, or the dining table you’ll hand down to your next generation is not a task to take lightly. Chris was professional and easy to communicate with from start to finish. The renting process was flawless. The orientation at the time of pick up was detailed, thorough and all questions were effectively answered. His personal style was genial and helpful. The fit up of the Sprinter was top notch with all amenities and understandable electronics monitoring systems. We would definitely rent from Chris again! Many thanks for our great little tour. Amazing van. Great floor plan, everything is clean, no unnecessary rattling. This van is very versatile and has everything you need on a short but also for a long getaway.

The experience was incredible. Chris did a fabulous job of explaining the features of the MB Sprinter, and was helpful in the organization of the trip. Definitely will rent this van from Chris again. For first-timer, it could not have gone better!

Chris's decked-out Sprinter van is the ultimate adventure mobile! We rented it for a long weekend getaway with my partner, our two dogs, and it exceeded expectations on every level. Chris's attention to detail truly shines through - the van was incredibly comfortable for all of us, with ample space to sleep, shower, and cook delicious meals. And hitting the open road was a breeze thanks to the van's off-grid capabilities - the solar power kept everything running smoothly, and the beefy tires tackled any terrain we threw at them. It felt liberating to explore our favorite spots completely self-sufficiently and we felt comfortable leaving our dogs in the van with the AC blasting and ability to check in on the temperature remotely.

We had a wonderful experience with Chris and his camper van! Chris was very thorough when giving us information leading up to the trip, and he was flexible and accommodating with our meet up time. We took it on a week long trip to visit a couple of national parks and had no issues. The van had all the necessities needed for our trip, and it was fun to drive! Chris checked in a couple of times to make sure everything was going well and was quick to answer any questions that we had. We would definitely recommend to anyone looking for the right van to take on their next adventure!

Chris was a wonderful contact and the van was amazing! Gypsum (the van) is a great van for the true adventurer! It was so cozy and well-equipt; Chris has truly thought of it all. There wasn't a single time on our week-long trip that we felt like we didn't have something we needed. The bike tray in the "garage" is such a nice and convenient addition as well and made storing and traveling with our bikes seamless. The bed was shockingly very comfy. The van drove great and we didn't run into any issues. The setup of the van is ideal and made it so that we could cook, play games, and sleep with ease. Tons of storage space made it easy for us to bring along plenty of outdoor gear and have it out of the way. Chris even has a great PDF put together that was really helpful in navigating the van and the technical odds and ends - it was great to reference throughout the trip. We also really appreciated that Chris was a great communicator and quick to respond. Would hands down rent this van again for another adventure :)

We had a great time renting Chris’s van! We used it for a weeklong mountain biking trip and it suited all our needs! The bike tray was super handy - we loved not having to worry about our bikes outside on a bike rack. The bed was very comfortable and we were able to cook great meals in the kitchen! We would definitely rent it again!

My wife, dog and I spent 5 days in Colorado and renting the Sprinter Van “Gypsum” from Chris was such a wonderful experience. Pick up was super easy, Chris explained to us all the processes and things to check on while using the van such as fuel, battery power, electricity, gas power, water tank etc and it made us more aware of how to properly use the vehicle on our travels. The best part was being able to park early at a parking lot near our destination and cook breakfast on the spot with a beautiful view. Gypsum treated us nice throughout and sleeping inside at night was much easier than we thought. The bed was very comfortable and we had plenty of room for us 3. We were able to take 1 shower inside the vehicle which worked better than we thought and for the most of the trip we found places to shower. There is a toilet in the vehicle but we didn’t need to use it during our trip since we used rest stops, but we were happy we had the option in case we needed it. We loved it and would do it again! What a blast! We rented Gypsum (the van) for two weeks and made a wild trip out to the PNW from Denver, Colorado. Gypsum quickly became home for my partner and I, plus our two dogs, as we hopped from state to state. We chose Chris's van for the variety of features, and they did not disappoint. The mattress, first off, is so surprisingly comfortable! We slept great, and used the window shades for maximum privacy. We wanted to cook as much as possible, so the fridge (surprisingly spacious) and stove came in great use. Chris has all the cookware and utensils you could possibly need. We loved the idea of an indoor shower but weren't sure if we'd end up using it...turned out to be hugely convenient and we used it a handful of times. The van itself is very capable on road, gravel and and dirt trails - its got some beefy tires with plenty of clearance. One other feature that I really enjoyed was the Wifi booster. I was doing some work during the trip, and the booster helped me get from no bars or maybe just 1 bar to enough signal so that I could reply to a few emails as needed. Lots of storage in the van and plenty of cabinets to stay organized. This van is clutch!

Chris was amazing to work with from renting the van to asking any questions along the way to providing advice - he was quick to answer and full of knowledge. Gypsum (the van) was a perfect home away from home for five days for my two dogs and I. The van drives very easily and has plenty of get up and go for going over mountain passes. At the same time the ceiling fan kept us nice and cool on the beach of Lake Mac. Chris' set-up allows for you to work from the van with plenty of power to run my hotspot, monitor, laptop and charge all of my devices. Thanks Chris and Gypsum for a great few days away!
