This could have been a great trip.
Unfortunately, there were several issues in the RV that could have been avoided if the owner had taken a more responsible approach to preparing the RV beforehand.
During the initial orientation I was informed that the previous renters were difficult and caused lots of damage and issues that the owner was trying to sort through. First, I was told to be careful because the screen door was broken and the previous renters damaged the awning arm. During our trip, we used the awning once for a couple hours with no issues. After returning the RV, I was informed that there was more damage to the awning arm and it would cost ~$700 to repair (which would come out of my deposit). When I asked to have a quick discussion with the owner at their convenience, I was told they would not make themselves "available" to talk and this matter is closed. I'm still waiting for picture of the alleged "damage" they are claiming to the awning arm.
Shortly after departing on this trip (after paying a $475 pre-cleaning fee) we found dirty tissues, garbage, used water bottles and melted crayons around the extendable sofa bed. Then, as soon as we arrived at the campsite we started to fill the kitchen cabinets only to find them littered with ants that we had to clean up.
When I attached the sewer hose (provided by the owner) to drain the black water it sprayed a disturbing amount of sewage all over our campsite and picnic table due to numerous holes and cracks in the hose. This required the campsite maintenance crew to sanitize our area with chemicals resulting in several hours of clean up on my part (not to mention horrific odors). When I reached out to the SF Bay Area Private RVs about the garbage and used tissues and the broken sewer hose, they replied back with "Hi, we spoke the owners about this...they cleaned the RV a couple days ago and apparently missed that. They are apologizing. The last renters caused a few issues but that's not an excuse.".
The most disappointing issue I have is that my family treated this RV with respect and care and the owner is still not willing to have a civil discussion to talk through it. Very unfortunate and unprofessional. As much as I would have liked to provide a positive referral, I would highly discourage anyone from renting this RV given the owners poor preparation of the RV an unprofessional approach to resolve any of the issues we experience.
I would gladly provide a more positive review if the owner would simply address this in a civilized manner and have a discussion with me instead of hiding behind SF Bay Area RVs as the only communication.
To the owner of this RV (if you read this), call me and let's talk through this like adults.
I have pictures of all of this, but the Outdoorsy site is not allowing these attachments to load.
Very disappointed with the owner of this RV and how they handled this situation.

Overall the vehicle runs great. It does have wear and tear. Probably could be priced a bit better $200 to $225 a night. The team at SF Bay Area Private RVs are awesome. Kurt knows his stuff and they make time to explain everything in detail. The pictures in the listing are out of date, but really just cosmetics. Dont expect any kind of tech. No blue tooth, no rear camera, etc. Reliable RV, will get you there and back no problem. Comfortable queen bed too. Other beds are super hard.

We had a terrific experience renting from SF Bay Area Private RVs. They are understandably really busy right now, but they took all the appropriate precautions and were really helpful on the day of pick-up, going through all the components of the rig in great detail. The rig was clean and well maintained and we had a great trip. Pick-up and return was easy and we were even able to extend our reservation to get an additional day for our trip. I would work with them again for sure.

The fact that the vehicle only had three seatbelts was not disclosed, despite me informing the rental company that we were traveling w our two young children in car seats. When I contacted the rental company after doing my own research, I was told that they would install a seatbelt. When we arrived to pickup the vehicle, the additional seatbelt was not in working order. I was told to pickup a seatbelt extension. This did not resolve the issue. This safety concern delayed our trip and created tremendous anxiety for my wife.

This rig was basically perfect, everything worked like it should, drove like a champ, and Curt at SF Bay Area RV gave it to us spotless and ready to go. Before we were home, my wife was wanting to go again, wow!

SF Bay Area Private RVs didn’t keep word and provided rental conditions as agreed upon on the phone. We ended up paying $360 more than planned.
the RV was new but already falling apart - drawers popping open at every curve, loose door panel and handbreak covering, veneer and trim coming off on certain areas. In every way not what we expected.

SF Bay Area was very responsive in answering my questions before the trip. Curt gave me a thorough orientation of the vehicle with good tips for a newbie. I appreciated the time he took, it made a difference. The RV is in good shape, easy to drive and easy to use. I averaged around 15mpg. It has everything you could need, however all those things are smaller due to it being a smaller RV. Good for up to 2 people.

This was our first experience renting an RV. Curt was wonderful and explained everything before we left. We had a great time and will rent again from here.

Curt - I have sent you several emails regarding our reservation, and I have not heard back. Can you please respond? I will not recite again the details of what went wrong on our trip. I would like to understand what part of the RV experience we are expected to pay for, considering that once we reached our destination nothing in the RV worked and we abandoned the entire trip. I also note that we did not get the RV we had originally and intentionally selected (which had an oven) and you had not road-tested the RV yourself to make sure it was in working order before we rented it.

Thorough and detailed service. Coach was in excellent condition. A bit pricy with the Prep and Sanitize fees added but good overall experience.
