We had a wonderful family vacation IN SPITE of our experiences with this particular RV and the claims placed by its owner. When we initially decided to go with this 2006 RV rather than another 2018 model posted in Outdoorsy, we were hoping to avoid being "nickeled and dimed" for minor scratches or issues of “wear and tear.” Instead, we find ourselves paying an additional $700 plus for parts and labor for a small hole on an external panel. The hole, the size of a dime, was caused by a broken door prop bracket. The owner refused to take any responsibility for the broken bracket. We did not break the bracket; it broke because it is a 13 year old RV.In addition, we were charged $90 to repair the motor for the automatic steps even though the owner admitted to knowing about the issue prior to our rental. I advised him on the first day of our trip that this “clicking” noise occurred each time we opened and closed the door to the RV to which he acknowledged, “it does that if someone stepped on the steps before they were extended completely. It strips the gears in the motor.“ Clearly the owner knew about this issue before we reported it, but we were not warned about stepping too soon and we were still charged for the repair.Other issues we had with the RV were the black tank line pump, the stereo system located in the overhead cab, and the idea that the RV was fully “furnished.” First, the clamp for the “black” tank piping broke and poured waste all over my wife’s shoes (no, she was not happy about this). We were fortunate that the campground host near our site had the appropriate tools and equipment and was able to fix this problem, however no credit was given because of this repair. Next, the bluetooth stereo system, which was extremely heavy, was not properly secured and fell down on our oldest son narrowly missing his head. Lastly, the listing for this RV promotes that it is fully furnished. What this means is that it is packed with all of their stuff, so much so that we barely had room to put our own things in the RV. Also, nothing is organized and several things were missing. For example, there were 6-7 baking pans, but no frying pan, there were a ton of forks, but only 3 spoons, there were no bowls and only a few cups. Nothing is labeled and we spent a ton of time trying to sort through cabinets and the under storage just to find standard things.Sadly, we cannot recommend this RV. If you do choose to risk it and rent it, look for the dime size hole to the right of the main door, because even though we were charged $778.32, I highly doubt the repairs will be actually completed. Even though we had a nice vacation, it will be forever tainted because we rented this particular RV.
