Our weekend family camping trip to Claystone Park at Lake Tobesofkee turned out great. The RV we rented from Liz and John was more than adequate! I use to enjoy tent camping when I was younger but now that I'm 65, having a little more convenience is a priority. No more crawling around in a tent for me.😂We paid the extra fee for delivery and pickup. Everything went smooth with that. We met John at the appointed time and he set it all up and then walked through, showing us everything we needed to know. Pickup went just as smoothly.The RV itself was so clean and neat. It felt brand new walking inside. I liked the convenience of not having to worry about packing towels, bedding, lights, cooking utensils, or camp stove, not to mention a tent and awning. We did bring a couple of our own chairs but 4 were available if needed. Liz and John also provided a grill.
The RV was very roomy for 4 adults although the bathroom is a little tight for a 6'6" man, so my husband chose to use the bathhouse, but he was counting on that already.
One of our days we had some afternoon showers. It was so nice to have the awning to sit under and enjoy the rain. Another plus was sleeping with the AC. Not only were we cool and comfortable but it also helped to drown out noise from the other campers. The refrigerator and freezer were a very adequate size and so much easier than having to keep ice in coolers. There were lots of cabinets for putting clothes and food.Liz and John were so friendly and easy to get in touch with. The only mishap was the water hose breaking loose from the high water pressure on the outside faucet where it was hooked up to. My husband was able to buy a new hose from Walmart which we were reimbursed for. There was also a little problem with the shower door not staying shut which we made Liz and John aware of. I'm certain it will be fixed for the next renters. For some reason we could not get the oven to work. We're not sure if it's something we didn't do right or not, but we told John and he said he would check on it. We were able to instead use the electric skillet that was provided for heating up our food. It worked great!We had a wonderful weekend and hope to be able to come back and do this again!
