Family man love to travel sight see and waking up to the great outdoors. One of our favorite trips to date has been to the sierras beautiful redwoods if you get a chance visit the trail of a hundred giants it’s amazing.

Cal was great during the entire transaction and trip. I was a bit skeptical going in after reading his last review but all he asks is take care of the rental as if it was your own. He was great to work with and I will recommend my friends and family to him.

If I could give Cal a 0 I would. The experience renting from him has probably been the worst Customer Service I've ever received. I too read all his reviews and thought he would be easy to work with, but I was sadly mistaken. It all started out great and I thought this was going to be an easy process, however I couldn't have been more wrong. I'm still dealing with this mess and it hasn't been determined yet whether he's just an unreasonable RV owner or if this was all a scam to keep our $1000 deposit. Yes, he is quick to respond when you initially have questions and I thought he was going to be easy to work with. Everything went fine until it came time to ask for my deposit back. Not only is he claiming that we broke multiple items in his RV ( i.e a pull down shade, a bunk bed , going on the roof even though he will tell you there is storage space on top- super misleading and now an "Inspection of roof" is needed in which he'll want you to pay for) also wanting to charge for fees that are unnecessary (i.e. not emptying out the tanks even though we did twice and he did admit to my husband that sometimes the sensor is off due to toilet paper being stuck in the tank, overage on mileage even though we drove within the allotted mileage), he not only will not want to provide receipts when asked but will want to keep the entire amount even though we all know there is no way all of that could be over $1000. Yes, things broke on our watch (ie the pull down shade and the bunk bed frame was wobbly) but these were all things that would have broken regardless of who rented it. Kids were not hanging off shutters nor jumping on the bunk bed. I'm not even sure how you would break the bottom bunk bed even if you tried. My 3 year old who slept in it was too tall to stand upright let alone jump on it. Also, he wants to have an inspection of the roof because someone went on top- how he knows that I have no idea. The only ones that went on top was my husband for a few seconds to check for storage (which there wasn't any) and the birds who walked all over it at the beach. Also just know that he will become hostile in his messages if he does not like the responses you give to his questions. I actually had to tell him I was no longer comfortable working with him and not to contact me directly anymore and that I would work with Outdoorsy from here on out.I honestly thought this was going to be a fun family vacation at the beach with a new RV experience, now I cannot even look through my family pictures without thinking about how this all could be a scam to keep our deposit. We paid $700 to rent the RV for 2 days to take our family to the beach and now another $1000 that we're fighting to get back. I would suggest just saving the money and renting an oceanfront hotel room at the beach. It will be less money and you won't be dealing with a hostile person and your experience will be more memorable. Oh and you wont have to go all the way to arbitration just to get your deposit back- still undecided if and how much I will get back?
If your feeling risky and don't care if you get your $1000 deposit back and decide to rent from him, I would suggest during the inspection that you literally pull down every shade, open every drawer, check all the beds and make sure odometer is on 0 and get receipts from when you empty the tanks (even though not sure how as the truck that drove by our campsite to empty only took cash). My husband did do what Cal stated as a "thorough" inspection of the inside of the RV however it was a visual inspection where shades and drawers were not opened, etc. Oh and whatever you do, DO NOT go on top of the roof for any reason even if he tells you there's storage up there and heaven forbid birds walk all over the roof. You will also be required to pay a mandatory $100 cleaning fee upon rental (what that covers I have no idea.) My assumption was deeper cleaning of the bathrooms, clean sheets, etc. However he still had a problem and said we left his RV unclean even though my husband shock vacuumed all the sand out and we wiped down all the counters. Beds were left upmade by us and bathroom was only rinsed down because my assumption was the $100 cleaning fee would mean that the owner would want to make sure all that was done properly before renting it out to someone else- apparently that is not the case. The floors were filthy when we got it and made our feet black so not sure what the cleaning fee is for if not to clean it after someone rents it?I hope outdoorsy publishes this review as I know I'm not the only one he has tried keeping the deposit from and yet I never saw any negative reviews on him. He shared with my husband that a previous renter had damaged the outside of his RV and he's keeping the deposit however the dent is still there and the other broken items are still not repaired. Is this just an unreasonable owner or is this all a scam to keep renters deposit? Either way, I hope Outdoorsy looks into this. Thanks to this experience with Cal this is a one and done experience. We won't be doing this again.

This was my first time renting an RV. The process was easy and Cal took the time to share everything I needed to know. Helpful tip: Video Cal's training process. It's very helpful when you need it. We had a wonderful time and the RV is excellent.

Our experience was excellent!! Really appreciated that Cal made himself available for any questions or help at any time of the day/night. He is very quick to respond. My family and I will definitely look into renting this motorhome for our next adventure!

This is an excellent RV, kept very clean, excellent shape, practically brand new. RV is very roomy. We took an 8-hour drive to Utah with 7 adults and 3 small children. Travelling together, with room for everyone to move around made it truly a memorable family trip.
This was a last minute trip and Cal made it easy. He was great to work with, very professional. He took his time to explain everything. Pick up and drop off were easy.
We had an amazing trip and will definitely be renting from Cal again.

We had an amazing trip. The RV is perfect, was roomy and accommodating for a long trip or just an over night trip. Cal was very helpful with all my questions he made sure I understood all the workings of the RV. I would recommend him to all my friends and family that need to rent a RV. The RV itself is perfect. We went on a long trip with 8 adults and a 5 year old and the RV was roomy and accommodating. The condition of the RV is perfect from the inside out. Cal, the owner, is very patient and makes sure you really understand all the workings of the RV. We were able to reach him immediately when we did have a question. If your considering this RV don’t wait. It’s a great experience with the owner and the RV

RV was exactly how it was described in the profile. Its a very beautiful RV. The owner is very professional. He was took his time to explain everything. He was very easy to deal with on pickup and dropping off. I was the easiest RV rental I have experienced. I would recommend him to all my friends and family that need to rent a RV.
