Aloha! My name is Jake, and I have had a passion for VanLife since I lived in my first van when I was 19 years old! I lived in a Sprinter for over 2 years while undertaking school and travelled across the US and Canada in my spare time! I since sold that van, built an improved version, sold that one, and recently finished my third dream van "Da Maui Nene" as the ultimate rental van specifically designed to be enjoyed on Maui! Besides having a van rental, I love going to the beach, surfing, hiking, and cooking. I am also gym owner and fitness enthusiast, training for my 2nd ironman this year!

This camper van is very well designed. The functionality and placement of storage is optimal. The bed was also very comfortable. We really enjoyed having the fans above the bed. They were very powerful and provided a nice breeze. It is very easy to drive. Jake’s response time to any questions or concerns was great! We received several compliments and people wanting to poke their head inside to see the layout. Simply a great option for two who want to be closer to nature.

The dimmable lighting and on demand hot water made for a very delightful trip! He splurged on fancy window coverings that were magnetic that made it very easy to snap on and off while on the go. His communication was on point and even saved our butts by letting us extend our trip an extra day when we missed our flight. Thank you! Picture included of our camp ground view from the sliding door of the van. It doesn’t get much better than that!

The van that Jake rented to us is beautiful! Very comfortable for two people, even with bringing two suitcases along for the trip, and it was clear how much work and care was put into the interior of the van. Jake was so kind and accommodating and was willing to go the extra mile to make sure we had a good trip. Overall, the experience was amazing and I would highly recommend this van to anyone.

First time going through this site and going with a camper van rental. It was honestly so worth it! The van was very comfortable and functional for 2, it was perfect for the adventures we went on during our trip.
Jake was very pleasant and quick to reply giving great advice on things to do and answer any questions we had.

The van was awesome. Nicely appointed and was exactly what we were looking to use on our trip around the Island. Jake was super great to work with. We highly recommend Jake for your next Island Sprinter experience.

It was truly such a magical trip! I really got to connect with Maui and all its beauty. Wow Jake is the best to rent from. Seriously you will be so taken care of. Felt right at home and would recommend to anyone that wants to truly ground, get away, and be with the islands beauty!

Jake’s van was perfect for our trip to Maui. The van is absolutely gorgeous and has everything you need to go off-grid. We especially appreciated the shower and toilet, and the comfy beds. It’s super roomy inside and is perfect for a solo traveler or couple. The van allowed us to really feel like we were in Maui , as opposed to staying in a hotel. We were able to do the road to Hana over a few days and take our time. Jake is a great host- very responsive and helpful. I will definitely rent this van again the next time I’m in Hawaii.

Jake was an amazing host and the van was awesome! The van was easy to drive and was super comfortable. We drove the road to Hana and up Haleakala no problem. Everything we needed was in there and it was convenient to have coffee and cooking stuff wherever we went. Having hot coffee and breakfast right after sunrise at Haleakala was so nice. Jake was very communicative and made sure we knew of some cosmetic dings before confirming the booking. He did a walkthrough with us when we picked up and also gave us some great dining recommendations. Can't recommend this van enough!

If you’re thinking about van camping on Maui, Da Maui Nene is an amazing option! Jake has custom built the interior of this Sprinter van to meet your every need while traveling the island. He thought of everything to make the van comfortable, safe, and convenient, and his workmanship was done to the highest quality. It’s also a beautiful living environment! I spent 6 nights traveling the Road to Hana, around the south end of the island, up to Mount Haleakalā, to the western shore of the island. Da Maui Nene handled it all with ease. For such a large van, it handles surprisingly well even on the extremely windy Road to Hana (take it slow!). My favorite aspects of the van were the super comfy bed (big enough for 2 average-sized humans), spacious kitchen and all of the provided cooking gear (including single-burner propane cooktop), sink with 30 gallon fresh water tank, clever interior toilet setup, and for nighttime, easy-up window blackout shades with magnets. Jake is an excellent host, communicative and helpful with recommendations. Enjoy your trip to beautiful Maui!
