Keith is awesome to work with, very accommodating as well. We did have an issue with the refrigerator not working properly. I’m sure the issue will be resolved very soon. Great trip overall!

I am writing this in the hope to help prevent any other RV vocation goers to go thru what we have been thru. I do not feel I should speak ill of the owner, who did try to rescue the RV and our vocation; it is just the RV did not collaborate. So our long-waited family vocation turned into a nightmare, esp. for our 2 young boys. My suspicion is that there is engine problem with the RV, and maybe it is simply too old and overdue for service, why would I say that? Below is a short day by day summary of what happened, read for yourself :
Day 1: picked up/took off ~3pm, driving to Lassen NP.
A/C not effective, especially in late afternoon during the heat wave close to Redding (114F). Too hot with AC at max, but RV speed could reach 70MPH.
Day 2: Visiting Lassen, RV worked OK.
Day 3:
1. Near the town of Bieber, noticed more black smoke puffed from exhaust/started limping mode,
2. stopped on roadside to check/cooldown, contacted RV owner (+Outdoorsy), before continue driving to Klamath Falls in limping mode (no steep slope along the way, max 50MPH).
3. after getting diesel from a Chevron at Klamath Falls, more black smoke coming from the exhaust and check engine light showed up.
4. Stopped at roadside again to contact RV owner/Outdoorsy. Agreement to continue driving if no new symptoms besides the solid check-engine light/planning to visit truck shop or getting mobile mechanic the next day
5. noticed reduced top speed down to 40MPH on slight slopes, on the way to Water Wheel camp ground (23mile north).
6. Contacted Outdoorsy Roadside assistance to schedule mobile mechanics next day)
Day 4:
1. we (outdoorsy/owner/ourselves) cannot find mobile mechanics to come to the camp site in the morning.
2. started to go to Crater lake -- cannot make it on steep slopes (down to 20MPH, lots of black smoke from exhaust, after flooring the gas pedal for a long time), turned back to Klamath Falls.
3. called all the mechanic in town and next town, and finally found one shop is available to do diagnostics , Got 4 Error Codes (P2011-002, P2359-001, P2671-001, P2028-004) all pointing towards the turbo system,
4. as agreed with RV owner, fixing it would take a few days, so we decided to head back to Bay area in limping mode (less power without turbo) which the mechanic believed it should be feasible.
5. RV could not handle the slopes on highway 140 to Medford (floored the gas, going at 20MPH with rising engine temperature), not easy to pull over to let engine cool down. finally turned into a side road to rest and calls roadside assistance (stranded for the 3rd time).
6. We decided to turn back to Klamath Falls, cannot find any opening in camp grounds. So stayed in a motel.
Day 5:
1. Communicated to RV owner about our top priority being family's safety.
2. RV owner believed a new MAF sensor can fix the problem and he checked online to confirm it is in stock at an AutoZone nearby.
3. 3-way call with RV owner/Outdoorsy roadside assistance for a mobile mechanics (Ashland Towing) to come by in the afternoon.
4. 3-ways calls with Ashland towing /RV owner ~noon to ask them to get the MAF sensor before coming to Klamath Falls.
5. A mechanic from Ashland towing showed up without the MAF sensor, checked air filter, which turned out to be super dirty (debris like leaves in the air filter housing probably from last season, lots of dust and sand in the filter itself). He uninstalled the MAF sensor to went to AutoZone to buy the same part, but did not find it in all 5 stores in town, not even in Medford. So he only bought/installed the new air filter/cleaning the filter housing.
6. RV owner also talked with the mechanic, asked them to order the MAF sensor (expect to arrive in 2 days) in the hope for a fix on Friday.
7. RV owner suggested replacing the air filter could fix the problem, but the check-engine light came up again during the 5 min drive from dinner place back to motel again.
Side note: We were told previously, before the mechanic visit, that all the parts were properly maintained with a brand new air filter installed 3 weeks ago.
Day 6:
1. Communicated to RV owner and Outdoorsy about our plan to leave Friday morning. Outdoorsy planned to schedule towing Friday 9~9:30
2. We spent the day packing our stuff (~160lbs, linens, pots and etc) for UPS shipping.
Day 7:
1. the scheduled tow did not arrive before our departure at 10am,
2. left the key on left/front tire and informed Outdoorsy.
3. Bus to Medford airports. flight back home.
Since you have all patience to read till now, you probably know what my suggestion --- Look elsewhere, do not let your vocation be ruined! I sincerely hope you do not have to go thru what we have been thru. Do not bet your luck on this one!
We are on day 21 now, since the owner 'really has no answer at this point', we turned to talking with Outdoorsy in the hope to get refund. Maybe I will come back to update my review later if I can get a refund or not. So you would get an idea of Outdoorsy attitude too.

This was my first RV experience and Keith made everything easy to understand and painless. Keith has great communication and responds promptly. Now to the RV, the RV operated perfectly without any hiccups. Gets great gas mileage, everything I expected from an RV. We were able to use it over the weekend with no hookups. This RV is served us well and would definitely rent from Keith again.

We were gutted to find out that this trip had to be cancelled. We did, however find the communication to be good - Keith had been willing to meet us in Alameda, which would have been a big help to get going. We understand these issues come up, and better now than whole we were on the road. We will try again. Also appreciate Outdoorsy policy to give us a trip credit. Very helpful.

Keith has a great RV! We had no issues with anything and Keith was super nice too offering to talk with him at any time we had a question.
We used the generator - running cold AC in Napa without any problems. The stove was used all weekend, and the water was heated perfectly when we needed it.
The RV fits 2 adults and our medium sized dog perfectly! It was super clean and cozy, yet spacious! I’d definitely rent this RV again and we’d recommend it as well.
