Hi, I am new to the rv camping world. I have converted this shuttle bus into a camper to be used for short and long trips with the family. We have two boys and we live in Nanaimo, BC. Prior to our departure our host made sure to confirm arrival time for pick up and answered any questions we may have had, unfortunately we did not realize we had to ask very detailed questions about what the RV/bus was equipped with as we were flying in from another province and were relying on what the description posted on Outdoorsy had stated.
The description clearly stated and showed that a "hanging bed" was part of the package and the appeal is one of the reasons we choose this particular RV/Bus. When we arrived super excited, we asked about the hanging bed because it was not there and we're told that," oh well you can't drive with it up and when taken down to do so its a large board that takes up space in the rv, the bed however is big enough for all 3 of you." I just replied with, ok, I guess we have no choice it seems," as it seemed that she was very discouraging with wanting to bring that. So ok fine I put that idea away as I was excited to get on with our adventurous vacation. I will say the kingsize bed was very comfortable! The description also clearly stated that a projector and screen was part of it as well, however again upon arrival we were told that it is no longer available as people were hitting their heads on it, so no projector again, ok fine, it was more of a cool feature as opposed to a necessity, however again would have been nice to been privy to this info prior to our arrival. The RV/Bus was also not equipped with even on small pan, no spatula and we were also told that the outdoor bbq was no longer available. The washroom as well was not cleaned well at all, the floor was full of water and dirt and the toilet seat underneath had urine marks, which makes you think how well everything else is cleaned.
A few days into our trip, we realized that the solar system was not bringing in any charge, and the back up batteries worked on and off, we fiddled with them and had a very lengthy call to Shell the owner who did try and walks us through and trouble shoot. We assumed it came down to a wire short of some kind. This whole system of being "off grid" was so appealing to us and the reason we choose this particular model. My bf was very concerned and diligent about not allowing the power bank system to go under 25% as it can ruin the system. This did put a lot of stress on our vacation as we like to treat others property with care as our own. The A/C unit worked well however it leaked all over the driver to where we had to put towels on the dash and steering wheel. We were also given, (after my bf requested it) a fire extinguisher. It was painted white, which you know you are not allowed to paint them and was expired. The overall experience was ok, we did create some great memories and felt at times stressed by things not working. We aren't by any means "glamorous campers" we tent most of the time and "rough it" so this review is coming from people who don't really require a lot however when you advertise something and you say certain things are included and one signs up and rents it, they expect to pay for what is promised. We read the few reviews she had and they seemed ok but were posted in 2021 so I'm not sure what has happened since.

We had a great trip in the bus! The bed was super comfy memory foam, the bus drove well, and Shell made sure we had everything we needed. She was very communicative throughout the trip as needed and made sure to answer any of our questions promptly.

It was our first time renting an RV and we did so because we wanted our family to experience what it's like to live on the road! We literally didn't know what to expect renting on Outdoorsy so we gave it a try and found Shelly's BEAUTIFUL van! It was literally our dream build which has everything we wanted and more. The propane heating was seriously a major plus to the whole experience. Shelly was very kind and walked us through the entire van to show us the ins and outs. Everything was very straightforward and we even had a manual book in case we forgot anything. Only good words for Shelly and her van! We would honestly recommend and would rent from her again 😊🙏🏼 Thanks Shelly!!
