The uplands are covered mainly by Longleaf Pines, with Sweetbay Magnolia, and Cypress trees bordering wetlands. Animals that may be encountered in the area include foxes, cotton rats, raccoons, opossums, deer, rabbits, skunks, beavers, turtles, snakes, and alligators.
