Sundance Film Festival (Park City, Utah), Late January 

Hosted annually in late January, the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah attracts film enthusiasts and industry professionals worldwide. While reveling in the art of independent filmmaking, RVers can enjoy the beautiful snowy landscapes and a variety of outdoor activities in the surrounding Wasatch Mountains. Just be sure to pack warm clothes and fill up the RV propane before you head out!

Steamboat Springs Winter Carnival (Steamboat Springs, Colorado), Early February 

Steamboat Springs comes alive each February with its legendary Winter Carnival, a celebration of winter sports and western heritage. Visitors get to witness the spectacle of the Night Extravaganza and the impressive ski-jumping competition, all while relishing the town’s charming atmosphere.

Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Festival (Various Locations, Hawaii), Various Times Throughout the Year

Hawaii is an ideal winter vacation destination and is even better when enjoyed in a campervan or rooftop tent. While you’re there, be sure to attend the Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Festival.

Celebrating Hawaiian music and culture, this festival occurs in various locations on the Hawaiian Islands at different points throughout the year, often including the winter months. The Kī hō`alu, or slack key guitar, is a uniquely Hawaiian instrument and this event is solely focused on showcasing some of the best Kī hō`alu musicians out there.

The festival features popular celebrity chefs and a huge number of culinary events, meaning you definitely won’t be bored during the four-day celebration of food and wine.

Tucson Gem, Mineral & Fossil Showcase (Tucson, Arizona), Late January and Early February 

Put on by the Tucson Gem and Mineral Society, the Tucson Gem, Mineral, and Fossil Showcase is the largest and oldest gem and mineral show on Earth. The event takes place in January and features a large variety of amazing exhibits that any geology enthusiast is sure to love.

Lectures and seminars happen during the event so you can learn even more about the fascinating world of geology, and vendors make it possible to take home gems, minerals, and/or fossils of your own.
