This was our first time renting an RV, and unfortunately the experience was disappointing. Before the trip, I communicated several times with the owner explaining that we were new to RV camping and asked multiple questions so we would know what to expect. The owner was friendly before the trip, but overall the experience felt poorly prepared and lacking in communication. When we arrived, nobody was there to meet us even though this was our first RV rental experience. The RV door had been left cracked open, there were no keys available to lock up, and we were never given the door code ahead of time. We had to contact the owner after arrival just to figure out how to secure the RV. Communication was limited to messaging through the app, which often meant waiting long periods for responses when questions or issues came up.Another issue we noticed immediately was that many of the cabinets and storage areas were already filled with the owners’ personal belongings. We brought our own food and supplies for the trip, but there was very little room available to store anything. In a small RV, the lack of usable storage space made the living area feel extremely cramped and uncomfortable. The biggest issue happened overnight when the heat stopped working completely. We woke up around 3:30am freezing, and the inside temperature had dropped into the low 50s. My wife, our dogs, and I were extremely uncomfortable and ended up leaving early because we could not stay in those conditions.Afterward, the owner confirmed the RV had run out of propane, which appears to have been the cause of the heating failure. As first-time renters, we were never shown how to check propane levels or troubleshoot the system, and we had no idea what to look for in the middle of the night.I appreciate that the owner apologized afterward, but overall this was a very disappointing first RV experience and not what we expected from a paid rental.
