I have used Outdoorsy a few times, and our family has extensive experience with camping trailers outside of Outdoorsy, so we were not at all worried going into this rental with Greg. The 1 star in this review goes to his wife who made a lovely welcome basket with snacks and playing cards, otherwise this overall experience was the worst I've ever had.We were promised a working water heater, that never happened. We were promised a refrigerator that worked on electric and propane, that’s not true. We were promised a safe operating trailer, but realized it did not come with a spare after getting a flat tire. Many of the cabinets didn’t close properly leaving supplies to fall out while driving. The screens on the windows were falling apart, the list goes on. The host even filed a claim for damage that was clearly already there, charging us for items broken that were not from us.Let’s start with the water heater. Not once did we have hot water for our showers for our entire week. I contacted the host and he informed me to light the pilot light manually, despite the warning label on control panel saying DO NOT LIGHT PILOT LIGHT MANUALLY.The fridge was promised to work on electric and propane. It is in fact an electric only fridge and because of this oversight, we had to throw away most of our groceries we just purchased. After spending hours dealing with these issues and spending time on the phone talking to the host, this was never resolved. When we returned the trailer we informed the host about the type of fridge he has and he was surprised, he had zero idea that was even a thing. Many of his "fix" type responses came directly from ChatGPT, which is concerning that he did not know how to operate his own trailer. We later realized he actually leases it out for the actual owner, which explained why he didn't know anything about it. This also wasn't disclosed to us until some confusing communication between him and the actual owner while on the trip.We got a flat tire on our trip, I get it, it’s not the host's fault. But hopefully you don’t get a flat tire in a remote area with no services and no cell phone service, the host doesn’t provide a spare tire (whether it’s part of the manufacture design or not, you should know it’s not if but when with a trailer.)During the trip, Greg appeared to be nice and accommodating, offering to reimburse us for purchasing a cooler, getting his tire fixed, and discount the trip because of the bad experience. Unfortunately after we dropped it off, he did not quickly deliver on those promises, becoming difficult to reach and communicate with. He then accused us of causing damage to his trailer, attempting to turn things on us. It was really disappointing to realize we were dealing with an unprofessional fraud after hoping we could come to an amicable resolution.Under no circumstances would I recommend renting from Greg if you care about your peace of mind.
