The host was nice in person and seemed helpful at pickup, but unfortunately, the communication and support after that were terrible. When we arrived, he told us the trailer was “road-ready,” even though the electrical connector didn’t match our vehicle — his was a 6-prong, and ours was a 4-prong. There was no mention of this in the listing or in any communication beforehand. No warning, no checklist, nothing to help us prepare. He told us to just drive it down the street without working lights or signals to a nearby RV shop — which is illegal and unsafe. As first-time RV renters, we trusted his guidance. When we got to the shop, they didn’t even carry the adapter we needed. At that point, we returned the RV unused. The host then completely disengaged, saying Outdoorsy would handle it and refusing to issue a refund. We’re now over seven days into a back-and-forth with Outdoorsy, still fighting for a refund for a trailer we never used — and possibly having to go to small claims court. This could’ve been avoided with better communication and responsibility. A simple message beforehand — “Hey, make sure your vehicle has this connector” — would’ve changed everything. The pickup experience was fine, but after that, we were left on our own with no support. Really disappointing.
